Taking a break in Theodore |

Theodore (like Tanilba Bay) was designed by Walter Burley Griffin before he set on his task of designing the nation's capital. The huge roundabout (The Bull Ring) in the centre of town is held up a great example of Burley Griffin's design.
Theodore is located on the banks of the Dawson River which flooded back in March this year causing significant economic damage to the town.

ReplyDeleteMandy said: Good on you Tristan - must admit I'm a bit concerned about what may happen if you meet a cane toad at a top speed of 70km/h!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTristan, delighted you have got both the bee sting, and the cane toad encounter, out of the way early. Tick those off the list of essential outback experiences. I'm expecting to hear if you have any of these experiences (remember I grew up in Tennant Creek, N.T.):
ReplyDeletea) Blinded by bull dust (it's like talcum powder...)
b) Blown off the road by a road train (very likely more than once)
c) Bitten by a freshwater croc (unlikely)
d) Bitten by a saltwater croc (more likely)
e) Driven mad by flies (absolutely inescapable).
Cheers, Lindsay O'Reilly.
Tristian,
ReplyDeleteWhen I was your age, growing up in the bush, a real postie bike was a push bike and what you call a postie bike was actually a Honda 90 Ag. bike(as in agricultural). Good to see you have an extra 20cc to burn, you never know when you'll need that extra bit of grunt. All the best for the journey.
Cheers,
Phil.
Milo: Dude!!! I love that place (carnavon gorge), its amazing, enjoy yourself and spend some time if you can in prayer in the moss garden. memorable I promise.
ReplyDeleteHAve fun a squish as many Toads as possible. I expect a death count of at least 20 by now.
